Coughing is heard followed shortly by a groan as you roll over grabbing another tissue. “Goddammit, when are those pills going to kick in?” You grumble waiting for the medicine that you took forty minutes ago to start opening up your sinuses. Blowing your nose, you wince as the tissue rubs against your already sore nostrils.

“This sucks,” dropping the tissue into the overflowing wastebasket it misses falling to the floor. Arching your eyebrow, you contemplate picking it up for a brief second before rolling over trying to get some sleep. “Is it so much to ask to be able to breathe?” You whine testing out breathing through your nose, you grimace at the blockage.

Fed up with sleeping, you angrily kick the blankets off your legs glancing at the time. “Three in the morning? Awesome,” swinging your legs over the side of the bed, you attempt to breathe through your nose again, scowling when you cough while trying to get your breath. Puffing out your cheeks you grab your water bottle, tissue box, wastebasket, phone, phone charger, medicine, and Chap Stick off the bedside table heading out your room towards the couch.

“Maybe it will be easier to breathe if I sit up,” passing a mirror you wince at the sight of your hair in a tangled mess falling around your face. Your nose bright red from consistently blowing it, your lips chapped and swollen from constantly licking them, and your shoulders slumped over. Attempting to crack a smile you groan, “Well aren’t I a sight for sore eyes…I know my costume for Halloween this year,” you chuckle causing you to cough at your sad joke.

Trying not to drop your items for the fear of having to bend over and collapsing on the floor you make your way down the hall. Your eyes brightening when you spy your goal, “Yosh,” smiling a bit you groan fumbling with the light switch. Wincing against the light you release a hiss like a vampire, “It burns!” You moan out quickly switching it off.

“Great, just what every person needs to do. Navigate through the mine field of sharp corners and coffee tables to seek comfort,” carefully shuffling your feet you cry out when your shin hits the corner of a table causing you to drop the items in your hand, “Itai!” Bending over you rub your shin trying to find your lost items, “This is just fucking fantastic if anything else could go wrong right now just get it over with,” you huff. Squatting down you reach your hand out managing to find your phone thanks to the glow coming off the screen, thumbing the arrow up you press the flash light button shining it down onto the floor.

Gathering everything off the floor you toss it onto the couch plopping down onto the sofa with a huff. “Finally,” leaning over you flip on the lamp wincing from the light. Grabbing the blanket hanging off the couch, you wrap yourself into a cocoon snuggling further into the sofa, opening your mouth to breathe you stare straight ahead chewing on your lip. You furrow your brows considering calling your boyfriend setting your phone to the side not wanting to bother him. Puffing your cheeks you blow out air pushing your hair to the side, “Dumb Tsundere,” you mumble staring at the electronic device on the sofa.

Sniffling you shiver shimmy further into your blanket, pulling your feet up onto the couch you wrap your arms around your knees trying to keep warm. Scrunching your nose, your lip lifts at the corner as you try to fight off a sneeze.

“Ah-choo!” Head jerking forward you wince grabbing your throbbing head in between your hands cradling it. You stretch your hand up to run your fingers along your throat attempting to soothe it. Reaching out to grab a tissue, you blow your nose tossing it to the side, popping another nasty ass flavored throat lozenges into your mouth sucking on it.

Picking up the box, you make a face at the flavor. “Cherry what a shitty flavor,” you scowl biting down obnoxiously on the lozenge imaging that it's their head. Feeling your phone vibrate you furrow your brows glancing over to see who in the hell would be contacting you at this ungodly hour.

“Kazunari?” Making a face you click the answer button, “Moshi, Moshi,” you answer grimacing holding the phone away to cough

“[Name]?” His bubbly voice questions, “Y-Yes,” your voice cracks when you respond, grabbing the water bottle you take a sip sighing in relief at the soothing water on your throat.

“Whoa you sound bad, are you sick?” He asks. “Yes, I am. Now if you don’t mind me asking, why are you calling so late?” You kick the magazine off the couch bored. “Huh? Oh yeah wanted to let you know that we are back in town. We are going out to celebrate for our recent win. Shin-chan and I-”

“Never said I was going, don’t call me that and I told you to let [Name]sleep it’s three in the morning for god's sake.” A familiar masculine voice cuts off Takao. Cracking a smile, you flush thinking about your Tsundere.

“-wanted to know if you wanted to come?” Takao continues on as if he wasn’t interrupted.

“Congratulations again, I already knew that you won Shintarō told me earlier,” you sniffle holding the phone away when you hear Takao whine at Midorima for telling you earlier without him.

“And no, I really don’t feel like hanging out. I feel like crap and just want to sleep so you all go have fun,” you sneeze reaching out for a tissue to wipe your sore nose.

“Geeze you sound awful,” Takao comments. “Gee arigatō Kazunari, now if you’re done can I go? It hurts when I talk and I’m trying to sleep,” you grunt out grimacing at the taste of the lozenges.

“O-oh okay! Uh, I hope you get better-”

“[Name] is sick?” Midorima’s voice is heard in the background.

“Take care [Name]!” Takao sings into the phone.

Huffing you hang up tossing the phone to the side knowing that you will be receiving a call shortly.

Groaning you tip over on the couch staring at the coffee table willing sleep to come. Scrunching your eyes shut, you cough mumbling when you hear your phone vibrate. Popping open an eye you stare at the offending object watching as it vibrates on the couch. Glaring at the phone, you watch as it inches towards the edge of the couch before falling off. Stretching out your hand, you grab it pulling the screen towards your face to see the caller I.D.

Puffing your cheeks you chew on your lip debating on whether you want to answer or not. Pressing the answer button you sigh, “H-hey Shintarō,” your voice cracks. Wincing you lick your lip, “Why didn’t you tell me that you’re sick when I messaged you?” An irritated tone makes itself known in his voice. Taking a deep breath, you exhale biting your lip to keep your cough at bay, “I didn’t want to bother you and besides you just won your game. You should go out and celebrate with Kazunari and the team,” you trail off.

Hearing a ‘tche’ you pout, “Idiot I’m coming over,” he states.

Gasping in surprise you end up having a coughing fit before you can properly reply, “N-no don’t!” You half yell out, grabbing your water bottle you take a sip, “I’m fine really,” you reply. You scowl when you hear a dial tone indicating that the call has ended, “Jerk hanging up on me,” you grumble. Throwing the phone to the side you huff out irritated your independent side coming through.

“I can take damn good care of myself,” you puff out your chest with pride only for a sneeze to deflate your ego. Sniffling your eyes light up when you can finally breathe. “Ha! See I can take care of myself, about time those damn pills kicked in,” wearing a shit eating grin you snuggle closer to the blanket even if he did come over he wouldn’t have a way to get in.

-

Tossing and turning you thrash in your sleep sweating beneath the blanket wrapped around your body.  Eyes squinted shut you shiver trying to keep warm your face flushed with fever. You relax at the feel of cool compress pressed to your head making a face when a thermometer is gently stuck between your lips. Glancing at his watch, he pulls the thermometer out of your mouth, “Tche definitely not fine. A temperature of a hundred and one,” a familiar masculine voice scoffs.

His green eyes soften when he sees your mouth open trying to breathe. Shaking his head, he stands up making his way towards the kitchen to fetch some medicine. Striding back toward the couch he squats down by your side, “[Name],” he murmurs pulling the warm compress of your head.

“[Name] wake up, you need to take some medicine,” scowling Midorima gently pushes a lock of your hair off your forehead tucking it to the side. Grasping your shoulders Midorima gently rocks them forcing an irritated groan out of you.

“K-Kazunari? I swear if that’s you, I’m going to punch you in the face. You’re only supposed to use that key in emergencies,” you mumble out licking your chapped lips. Smirking at the first comment Midorima dips the compress into the ice water placing it back onto your forehead. A scowl appears on his lips as he remembers the second comment. Grunting with irritation, Midorima shakes you awake.

“What?” You peek open an eye looking for the intruder.

Pouting your eyes widen with shock at the sight of Midorima sporting an irritated look. Shooting up into a sitting position your head swims, blushing when a pair of masculine hands steadies your body preventing you from falling over.

“U-uh hey Shintarō,” you greet pulling the blanket tighter around you, “How are you?” you cough lifting the blanket higher to cover your mouth.

“Why does Takao have a key and I don’t?” He questions pulling the wet compress from where is fell onto your lap dipping it into the water. Making a face, you tilt your head, “Um in case of emergencies?” You offer up wincing at the glare sent your way. “Eh.” Furrowing your brows, you glance up at him, “Wait how did you get in here?” You question peering up at him with narrowed eyes.

Flushing Midorima looks down at the washcloth soaking in the bowl, “Takao gave me his key,” he grunts out. Scowling, you press the blanket to your lips to muffle your cough, “That traitor I’m going to smack him,” you grumble pulling the blankets tighter when you shiver. Making a ‘tche’ sound with his lips Midorima rings out the washcloth lifting it up to press it to your forehead again.

“Why does Takao have a key and I don’t?” He questions again.

Sighing you lean back against the couch, “Kazunari always had a key to my place ever since we were little when my parents moved the second year to Australia for my Dad’s job I gave him one to my apartment. Guess he never told you,” you crack a smile watching as a frown appears on Midorima’s face. Your chuckling is cut short with a wheezing cough forming a grimace on your lips.

“Besides you never asked for a key,” you trail off gauging Midorima’s reaction, “Do you want one?” You tilt your head your eyes taking in his response. “Already got a copy,” he replies with a clipped tone holding up Takao’s.

Giggling you smile softly, “Kazunari is going to fight you for that,” shrugging Midorima’s green eyes take in your frail appearance. Sighing he removes the washcloth once it becomes warm, “Go take a shower,” he commands. Furrowing your brows, you pout looking up at him.

“But I’m comfortable,” you mumble snuggling further into your cocoon of blankets.

Sneezing your hair comes loose from your bun blocking your sight of your boyfriend. Stretching out his hand, he gently pushes your hair off your face.

“I’m not going to ask again,” he commands quietly a tone to his voice. Making a sour face you sigh, “Yes, Yes,” kicking out your legs you make push yourself onto your feet grimacing when your head spins, “Whoa,” taking a shaky step forward you collapse into Midorima’s arms.

“Idiot,” he grumbles letting out an irritated sigh; Midorima hooks his arms underneath your legs carrying you to your bathroom. “H-hey! I can walk you know,” you grumble coughing into the blanket wincing from your sore throat.

“I can see that,” he glances down at you arching a green eyebrow a slight smirk on his lips. “Oh, so Shintarō got jokes huh?” You fire back shivering from your fever you subconsciously snuggle closer to his chest missing the blush on Midorima’s cheeks.

“Just stop talking, you’re going to hurt your throat,” he comments quietly smirking at the scowl on your face. “Yeah you would like that,” you grumble feeling his chest rumble with a snort. Smiling softly to yourself your heart flutters knowing that you made him laugh. Since you began dating the Tsundere you had personally made it a goal to at least make him laugh every day at most. Last week had been your personal best, in your opinion the man needed to smile more, lighten up a bit.

Arriving outside of the bathroom, Midorima set you down keeping his hands on your shoulder to steady you, “Take a warm shower, it will clear up your sinuses. Then call me when you’re done, I’ll be out here,” he replies gently shoving you forward. “Yes sir,” you smile saluting him causing his green eyes to flash with irritation.

Smiling you drop the blanket kicking it to the side, reaching down to pull your shirt off your head you hear an inhale of breath followed by a grumble, “Shut the door!” He grunts out slamming the door behind you.

“Prude,” you mumble giggling softly to yourself. It’s not like you all haven’t seen each other before, Midorima has always been shy when it came to sex or seeing you naked. His dominance shortly took over once the shyness faded, and holy shit was he amazing in bed.

Flushing you strip down turning on the facet waiting for the water to warm up before stepping in. Feeling the water cascade down your body, you sigh pressing your feverish head against the tile. You moan out pressing your whole body against the tile, briefly imagining how Midorima would react if he heard you moaning you flush giggling. Washing your hair and body you turn the water off standing in the shower soaking up the steam slowly feeling your nose and the ache in your head start to clear up. A snort escapes your parted lips remembering the time you addressed him as Doctor Midorima in bed flushing with embarrassment at his response.

Stepping out of the shower you shiver reaching for a towel to wrap around your body seeking out your clothes, “Huh well crap looks like I forgot them,” shrugging you pull the door open stepping out spying your boyfriend leaning against the wall waiting on you.  His face slowly becoming red as he takes in your wet form clad in only a towel, “I-Idiot!” He scowls pushing up his glasses. Pouting you hug the towel tighter, “Don’t idiot me, you’re the one who shoved me into the bathroom before I got clean clothes,” you grumble walking down the hall towards your room. Hearing a noncommittal grunt, you grin knowing you won that argument.

Dropping the towel, you quickly pull on another set of pajamas setting for a tank top and grey shorts slowly drying your hair with the towel. Standing in the doorway Midorima's facial expression softens as he takes in your pajama-clad form a blush adorns his cheeks causing him to push up his glasses.

He quickly scolding his features when he watches you flip your hair over your shoulder, turning around you see Midorima watching you, “What?” You question tilting your head, “Nothing, come to the kitchen,” he commands walking away.

“Geeze, bossy,” you mumble hanging up your towel on your desk chair to dry you follow Midorima down the hall briefly stopping by the bathroom to grab your blanket. Sinuses clear you lift your nose when you smell something delicious coming from the kitchen your stomach grumbles loudly causing a blush to appear on your cheeks.

“That’s what I thought, you haven’t eaten yet have you?” Midorima scolds setting down a cup of tea next to a steaming bowl of chicken noodle soup. Chewing on your lip you pout, “Wasn’t exactly hungry at the time,” you mutter taking a seat in the chair he pulled out for you.

Placing his own cup of tea onto the table Midorima sits close to you absentmindedly drinking.

“Well go on,” he indicates towards the bowl. Mumbling an itadakimasu, you lift the spoon to your lips briefly blowing before placing it into your mouth.

“Oh my god-” Green eyes widen with worry afraid of your response. Moaning you lift another spoonful to your lips swallowing it. “This is amazing! Shintarō did you make this?” You question glancing over to see Midorima flushing his fingers pushing up his glasses to hide his blush. “Yes I did,” he replies. Quickly downing the soup, your stomach grumbles for more, blanching you press your hands to your stomach trying to muffle the sound your face flushed with embarrassment.

Chuckling softly Midorima reaches out to grab your bowl, “If you want more just ask,” he shakes his head striding over towards the stove to ladle you another bowl. Placing the bowl before you, you greedily dig in moaning at each bite. Pushing the bowl back, you pat your stomach, “You’re a phenomenal Chef Mr. Midorima,” you giggle at the blush on his face.

“It’s just chicken noodle soup,” he grumbles. Rolling your eyes you pat his hand resting on the table making Midorima blush, “But it was made from the heart,” you reply placing a hand upon your chest. Snorting Midorima rolls his green eyes his lips twitching as he fights a smirk.

“Dramatic,” he comments quietly. “I am not!” Your eyes widen, “I’m hurt,” you frown crossing your arms.

“I can tell,” he replies taking your bowl towards the sink to rinse it out, “Just leave it there, I’ll wash it later,” You call out wrapping your blanket around yourself shivering.

“No you won’t,” he fires back. “Oi I totally will-like on Wednesday,” you mumble smiling when you hear a snort. Scrunching your nose, you press the blanket to your mouth to block your sneeze, “Ah-choo!” Sniffling you pull the blanket tighter around yourself blushing grabbing the tissue held out in front of you. “Arigatō,” you mumble using the tissue to blow your nose. “There are such things as tissues,” he scolds. Making a face you poke your tongue out at him, “Hush now.” Standing up you shuffle towards the living room with your tea in your hand only to be stopped by Midorima.

“That blanket is disgusting, give it here,” Midorima holds out his hand. “No way!” You fire back, wrapping it tighter around your body.

Clucking his tongue Midorima swiftly takes the tea from your hand earning an “Oi!” before managing to steal the blanket from around your body causing you to shiver.

“G-give me that back!” You whine reaching out to take the blanket. “No,” he bluntly replies disappearing down the hall probably towards your laundry room. “Tsundere,” you grumble, “I heard that!” He calls out, giggling you wrap your arms around your body your hands gripping the tea cup tighter trying to transfer some warmth.

Making your way towards the couch, you plop down taking sips of the honey tea sighing at the soothing feeling on your throat. Hearing footsteps you call out, “You owe me a blanket,” you cough pressing your hand to your lips.

Feeling something drop onto your shoulders, a familiar masculine smell fills your nose. Glancing sideways, you spot the Shūtoku High Basketball Logo on the sleeve.  eyes wide you look up blushing when you see Midorima in his jersey a blush on his cheeks, “Just don’t sneeze on it or cough into it,” he grunts messing with something in his hand.

“Arigatō,” you flush wrapping the jacket firmly around your body blushing as the smell of relaxes you. “Scoot over,” Midorima commands leaning over the back of the couch, you turn sideways trying to see what he is doing. Furrowing your brows, he sighs swiftly picking you up plopping you onto the ground before the couch, “H-hey!” Your indigent cries are cut off when you hear your blow drier come on.

Eyes bugging you try not to choke on your tea. Tilting your head back, you spot Midorima holding your drier over your head your brush in his hand, “What? You will become sicker if your hair is wet. And I won’t take care of you a second time, sit still while I dry it,” he trails off gently pushing your head down.

Feeling his fingers thread through your hair you sigh relaxing against his legs tilting your head down holding your tea in your lap. Occasionally lifting the warm beverage to your lips to take a sip, your face flushed not with fever but with embarrassment and love. Hearing the hair drier cut off you lift your hand up to touch your hair wincing slightly when fingers pull your hair back tying it into an elastic.

“Sorry,” he comments quietly.

Fixing your hair he lets his hands drop to the side, “There,” he comments lifting his leg up and over your head, Midorima goes to stand only to feel a hand on his leg, “Wait, just stay,” you blush letting your hand drop onto your lap. Flushing he nods taking a seat, placing the empty cup onto the coffee table you push yourself up to sit next to him on the couch leaning your head against his shoulder.

“Arigatō Shin-kun,” you mumble pressing a kiss to his bicep. Out of the corner of your eyes, you see him push up his glasses glancing the other way flushing. “Dō itashimashite,” he grunts out. Yawning you snuggle closer to him pulling his jacket closer around you.

Minutes later a soft snore can be heard as your head droops against his shoulder occasionally missing causing you to jerk awake. Making a ‘tche’ sound Midorima sighs grabbing a pillow to place onto his lap lowering your head down onto it his face flushed.

“Idiot, next time tell me that you’re sick,” he scolds softly pressing his hand against your forehead to check for a fever.

Smiling in your sleep you snuggle closer to his touch, “I love you Doctor Shintarō,” you mumble pressing your nose into his jacket. Green eyes wide, his mouth drops open in shock. Midorima had never been used to open displays of affection or the use of “I love you” until he met you, but it still always came as quite a shock whenever you said it. Quickly he regains his composure pushing up his glasses Midorima gently places a hand onto your back rubbing soothing circles glancing the other way.

“I-I love you too [Name],” his lips twitch with a smile when he see’s you clasp the jacket tighter in your hands mumbling his name with a blush. “I know,” you reply sleepily with an eye-cracked open, you giggle at the flush and indigent look on his face.

Being sick isn’t so bad especially when you have a hot doctor taking care of you.

Thought I would just throw up this Juicy Number to abide those waiting on their Commissions to be completed. YES, I am still working on them I haven't forgotten about you all. I wrote most a couple of months back, just got writer's block, and had to tuck the story away for a bit. But now, (hopefully) I can wrap up the stories I promised you and post them to your walls.
